History of NetSuite integration

Let's dig into the history a bit.

The first integration for NetSuite was implemented by Gartner, Inc. The business software company needed a tool that would provide online order fulfillment for their customers and management tools. They worked with the distribution center staff to set up a node.js script which sent orders electronically from the warehouse to the backend of NetSuite. The next step in NetSuite integration history took place when one of Gartner's customers went out of business and asked them to sell their store. Gartner sold the store as a service contract. The Gartner team was able to differentiate themselves by helping the customer make sure that inventory was properly re-stocked and that staff was trained properly for the new system. NetSuite integrated with NTI Commerce from NetSuite. In 2008 NetSuite went public and in 2009, NTI Commerce (the company who built database of data providers for NetSuite) wanted to leverage its flagship product, NTI Groupware, for e-commerce.

NetSuite integrated with NTI Commerce from NetSuite. In 2008 NetSuite went public and in 2009, NTI Commerce (the company who built database of data providers for NetSuite) wanted to leverage its flagship product, NTI Groupware, for e-commerce. NetSuite's CEO, Zach Nelson started working on integrating NetSuite and NTI commerce. Nelson joined with NTI's CEO, Dr. Michael Merz to work on integrating NetSuite and NTI Commerce in 2009. The integration of NetSuite with NTI Commerce was done through custom built integration modules which are developed by NetSuite Software Engineers. The objective of this integration was to help NTI commerce, leverage on NetSuite's data providers to allow customers use their existing data sources and payment gateways to sell online or export to their accounting software. The first integration was Sales Order Data from NetSuite to NTI Commerce in 2009. The final integration with all modules was done in 2010. In 2011, they released the full source code on github for anyone who wants to continue development of the project.
